Kerrie Kilpatrick-Weinberg BIO

Executive Director/Artistic Director, Kerrie Kilpatrick-Weinberg, educated and trained in Art and Design (3-dimensional), developed the original Art Walk curriculum, as a step-by-step technical process tailored to maximize and benefit At Risk and Special needs students. Kerrie shares her skills as a Muralist and Design Specialist. Design projects enlighten students to the significance and importance of core academics - math applications (gridding), working with true scale, reading and understanding directions, problem-solving, etc . . .

Kerrie's early experience includes work as a Designer with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. She received her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Theatre Set/Design, and Art History, with an emphasis as an Artist, Set Designer, and Sculptor from the Central School of Art and Design in London, England. As a Set Designer, Kerrie Kilpatrick-Weinberg collaborated with At Risk youth through the Lyric Theatre in London.

ART WALK FOR KIDS/ ADULTS(TM)
"Takes Art to Work" in 2 ways:

First, through Design Projects that include creating theatre set designs and "back drops" for theatre productions, murals, and
I Madonnari (Santa Barbara's annual street art festival, trip-tics, and installations).

Secondly, we invite guests who share their creative approach to their vocation. We interview our guests who share their resume experiences that have led them to career success.  

Kerrie also has set up Art Houses for Devereux Santa Barbara, a residential facility for mentally and physically disabled youth and adults - and at Miro House, Hillside House a residential home for developmentally disabled children and adults- at Matisse House, Chagall House for Autistic adults in the community. She also has two mural clubs at Vieja Valley and Monte Vista Schools with another opening in the fall at Hope School.
